Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a service of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a non-denominational, non-profit, self-supporting facility established in 1969 to provide services to preschool children. Since then it has progressed to provide additional services to school age children, including before and after school programs and a full day summer program. We also partner with the Fort Atkinson School District to provide collaborative 4K services.
Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare does not discriminate based on age, race, color, sex, handicap, religion or national origin. The school is licensed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to accommodate 98 children. As such, Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is mandated by law to follow state licensing codes and regulations.

Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare has also been awarded accredited by the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs. As an accredited center, Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is recognized as an early care and education program that exemplifies excellence in the care of young children. The accreditation process includes a self-study which administrators, staff and parents evaluated the program in accordance with Accreditation Standards. A validation visit and thorough commission review of all program materials concludes the process with a decision to award accreditation. Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare utilizes Creative Curriculum, a play-based, developmentally appropriate, child-oriented curriculum. This curriculum is based on learning through play and encourages respect for each child as an individual, individual responsibility of each child toward him/herself, his/her peers and adults, independence, self-reliance and a positive self-concept and direct involvement in the learning process emphasizing creative and spontaneous problem solving.
