Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is proud to announce it has once again been rated 5 Stars by the Wisconsin YoungStar program!
Wisconsin Department of Children and Families states, “YoungStar is a five-star quality rating system for child care providers based on education, learning environment, business methods, and practices around child health and well-being. Through this rating system, the state is addressing several key issues in Wisconsin’s child care system.
The rating system:
- Improves the overall quality of child care
- Creates a clear, understandable tool to help parents choose quality child care
- Creates incentives for providers to improve services, particularly for low-income children
- Links the quality of child care providers to Wisconsin Shares subsidy amounts
- Includes a YoungStar Quality Adjustment to recognize the highest levels of quality
Centers who participate in the program receive a rating between 1 and 5 stars. 5 star centers meet the highest levels of quality standards.
As of 3/31/22 approximately 13% of those who were rated achieve 5 stars.
